Elderly Ministry Open House

Last Sunday marked the exciting launch of our Elderly Ministry! We are thrilled to share what this new chapter means for our church family and how we are coming together to honor our seniors.
It was a beautiful Sunday. The room was filled with warmth, music, and the shared joy of a community coming together to honor and support our seniors.
Worship & Praise
The session was anchored in heartfelt worship. Led by Uli, the group sang powerful song of devotion,
“Ku Mau Cinta Yesus Selamanya” (I Want to Love Jesus Forever)
It was a moving sight to see our seniors raising their voices together, creating an atmosphere of peace and spiritual connection.
Vision & Learning
We took time to walk through the “heart” of this ministry. Through a visual presentation, we shared our goals for the seniors of JICF:
-
A Spiritual Home: Creating a place where they feel they belong and can grow into mature believers.
-
Language Inclusivity: We emphasized our commitment to providing support in both Indonesian and Chinese, ensuring every parent and senior can engage comfortably.
-
Practical Support: Discussing how we can provide companionship and relational care for the parents of our congregation.
Fellowship & Personal Stories
The gathering was deeply personal. We spent time getting to know one another:
-
Introductions: Members like Steve Tan and others took the floor to introduce themselves, fostering a sense of immediate community.
-
Shared Wisdom: Several seniors shared personal stories and reflections, reminding us of the wealth of experience and faith within our church.
Breaking Bread Together
No celebration is complete without a meal! The group enjoyed a wonderful spread of Indonesian cuisine, symbolizing our gratitude to God for this new beginning. The room buzzed with conversation as everyone shared a meal and built new friendships.
This Open House was just the beginning. We are excited to see this “home” grows as we continue to walk alongside our elderly members in love and respect.
We look forward to seeing how God uses this ministry to strengthen our families and bring his love to life in a relational way.
